Estimates assume 5,000 conversations a month, 60% handled by AI and 10 agent seats, at each vendor's published list price (the cost calculator's model); treat them as a floor, not a quote. Compliance rows are what vendors publicly claim, and “Not verified” means we have not confirmed that fact yet, not that the tool lacks it.

Choose Bland AI or Synthflow?

Choose Bland AI if

Best for: Regulated phone operations in healthcare, insurance and financial services that want one vendor running the whole voice stack, with VPC or on-prem deployment and SOC 2, HIPAA and PCI DSS coverage.

  • you prefer its particular feature set and integrations

Look elsewhere if you want to choose your own LLM and voice providers, or your support volume is mostly email and chat rather than phone calls.

Choose Synthflow if

Best for: Mid-size and enterprise contact centers and BPOs that want voice agents with telephony, pre-launch testing and auto-QA from one vendor, especially Freshworks or 8x8 shops.

  • you need a vendor that publicly claims ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and EU AI Act

Look elsewhere if you want pay-as-you-go, self-serve voice agents; Synthflow now sells enterprise contracts starting at $30,000 a year.

About Bland AI

Bland (the site brands it simply as Bland) is a platform for building AI phone agents that answer and place calls, and continue the conversation over SMS and web chat. Agents are designed as Conversational Pathways, call tools against your systems mid-conversation (looking up an account, verifying identity, updating a payment date), and warm-transfer to a human with context when they should. The use cases on its site are the unglamorous high-volume ones: IVR replacement, appointment scheduling, after-hours and overflow coverage, identity verification, payments and collections, and patient care coordination. Bland says agents answer in about 200 milliseconds and work in more than 40 languages.

What sets Bland apart is that it owns the whole voice stack. Where most voice-agent platforms stitch together a third-party transcription engine, a frontier LLM and a separate voice provider, Bland runs its own speech-to-text, language model and text-to-speech on its own GPUs. It turns that into a security argument: no third-party AI sub-processor touches the call, guardrails are fine-tuned into model weights rather than prompts, calls can be pinned to a region with EU data on EU GPUs, and deployment options run from Bland's cloud to your own VPC, on-premise hardware or a fully air-gapped install. It claims SOC 2 Type I and II, HIPAA with a BAA, GDPR and PCI DSS. The tradeoff is that you are betting on Bland's models instead of choosing your own.

Isaiah Granet (CEO) and Sobhan Nejad co-founded Bland in San Francisco in 2023, pivoting into voice midway through Y Combinator. It raised a $16 million Series A led by Scale Venture Partners in August 2024 and a $40 million Series B led by Emergence Capital in February 2025, and Fortune reported a $50 million Series C led by Dell Technologies Capital in June 2026. Bland says more than 250 enterprises use it. Published results include Idaho Housing and Finance Association saving $750,000 a year by retiring its IVR, Slash gaining 13 points of CSAT, and Needle resolving 81 percent of pharmacy inventory calls with no human involved.

Pricing is per minute and covers the LLM, transcription and voice in one rate, with telephony billed separately. The Start plan is $0.14/min with no platform fee and no card required; Build is $0.12/min plus a $299/month platform fee with higher limits; Enterprise is contracted to volume and adds VPC or on-prem deployment, SSO, BAAs and forward-deployed engineers. Choose Bland if you run regulated phone operations in healthcare, insurance or financial services and want a single vendor accountable for the whole call. Skip it if you want to pick your own LLM and voice vendors, or if your support is mostly email and chat.

About Synthflow

Synthflow is a platform for building AI voice agents that answer and place phone calls, and since 2026 it also runs chat agents from the same workflows. Agents are built in a visual Flow Designer, where subflows act as specialised agents for separate tasks and steps call your APIs, and are deployed into customer service, receptionist, appointment booking, IVR, lead qualification and outbound campaigns. It connects to more than 200 tools, including contact center platforms (Genesys, Five9, 8x8, RingCentral, Cisco, Avaya), CRMs (Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Freshworks), helpdesks (Zendesk, Intercom) and telephony carriers such as Twilio, Telnyx and Vonage. Synthflow claims more than 30 languages.

Two things distinguish it from Retell and Vapi, the developer-first voice platforms it is usually compared with. First, Synthflow runs its own telephony network, which it says keeps latency under 100 milliseconds and lets it place voice infrastructure in the regions a customer needs, while still accepting your own carrier or SIP trunk. Second, it has packaged the agent lifecycle into what it calls the BELL framework (Build, Evaluate, Launch, Learn): agents are tested in a Test Center with simulated calls before going live, and Auto-QA scores every live conversation afterwards so the results feed the next version. Forward-deployed engineers handle enterprise rollouts. The trust center lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR and EU AI Act coverage, which is unusually broad for a company this young.

Synthflow was founded in Berlin in 2023 by Hakob Astabatsyan (CEO), Albert Astabatsyan and Sassun Mirzakhan-Saky. It raised a pre-seed led by Atlantic Labs, a seed led by Singular in 2024 and a $20 million Series A led by Accel in June 2025, for $30 million in total, and has about 70 employees. It says more than 130 enterprises use it. The most notable deployment is a partnership with Freshworks that puts Synthflow voice AI inside Freshcaller, Freshdesk and Freshservice, automating up to 65 percent of routine voice requests; 8x8 and AVANT signed channel partnerships in 2026. Customer stories include Thryv, Medbelle, Euro Paper and Niagara Region Transit.

Synthflow has moved upmarket: its pricing page now lists only enterprise contracts, starting at $30,000 a year and scoped around call volume, concurrency, telephony and integrations. Choose Synthflow if you want enterprise voice agents with telephony, testing and QA handled by one vendor, especially if you already run Freshworks or 8x8. Skip it if you are a small business or developer wanting to pay by the minute and build yourself; Retell or Vapi publish usage pricing and let you start without a contract.
